The Augustinian House in Luhacovice was constructed from 1902–1904. It was developed by architect Vladimír Fischer from Brno according to plans from the Augustinian monastery of St. Thomas in Old Brno.
Saint Thomas is the patron of theologists, healer of back pain and he is often prayed to by young newlyweds seeking a lifetime of matrimonial bliss. Thomas is also the patron saint of architects, builders, surveyors, carpenters, masons, geodesists and stonemasons.
And, fittingly, he's the patron saint of the Augustinian House where his symbol in the form of the letters ST can be found in several locations on the facade. You can also find them incorporated into the hotel's logo.
