BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW
Pálffy Palace is one of the most famous baroque buildings in the capital. It came into existence following the adjoining of two buildings at the beginning of the 18th century and it has been gradually reconstructed since 1808.
The name of the palace originates from 1881 when Eduard Pálffy, the earl of Erdor, bought the building. Later he sold it to the state for use as a station for mounted police officers. Between 1918 and 1946 the palace served as the archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 1989 it was acquired by the Ministry of Culture and in 1992 it was leased to the Prague Conservatory as compensation for its former premises in the newly renovated Rudolfinum.

Start with such delights as a salad of Peruvian quinoa and shredded leaves with citrus dressing, or pan-seared slices of foie gras served on rhubarb chutney. Then, move on to your main course with offerings such as lamb shoulder braised nine hours and served over parmesan spinach with coriander garlic, or yellowfin tuna crusted with sesame seeds and served with marinated black beans on salad with soya-ginger dressing.
By this point, the luxurious candlelit setting, period furniture and glittering chandeliers might well make you feel as though you are in a fairytale. If so, why not make it one with a happy ending—dessert! You can choose from a range of sweet treats including lavender creme brule with mint and strawberry; chocolate “mouelleux” with orange passionfruit emulsion and grapefruit sorbet; and heavenly homemade chocolate bonbons.
In all, it’s escape from every day dining every bit befitting the restaurant’s storied location at the base of Prague castle.
