MORE ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

Morena is the first Peruvian restaurant to be featured in the SMH Good Food Guide and has attracted much attention from fine-dining aficionados across Sydney. With a menu teeming with adventurous & playful Peruvian inspired dishes, you're assured a culinary treat that will be an adventure to your palate.

The flavour journey is up to you with your choice of entree, main and dessert from Morena's highly praised menu. Savour the flavours of ceviche from the masters of this iconic Peruvian dish. Or if ceviche is not to your liking the entree selection comprises the likes of twice cooked crispy suckling pork belly and much more!

The depth of flavours that run through the main offerings is diverse, ranging from fresh seafood delights to rich char grilled beef striploin.

Even the heartiest of meat lovers will love the flavour packed into Morena's gPeruvian style roasted free range 1/2 chicken, with Spicy Peruvian pepper and roasted capsicum, Peruvian black mint & Yellow chilli & Chimichurri. If this flavour combination doesn't whisk your mind away to the shores of South America then nothing will!

Top the evening off with desserts that sing! We can highly recommend Morena’s clasico - Arroz con leche (creamy rice pudding) & mazamorra morada (delicate purple corn gel) served w/ poached green apples, pineapple & quinoa caramel.

The ambience of Morena is no less impressive with a dark, moody and sultry space ready to seduce your senses. Think recycled timber that is full of character, inca-inspired fabrics and a beautiful glass chandelier that almost seems to dance in the ceiling a-la salsa style!

As is the Latina spirit, the service is friendly and upbeat adding to the experience that is Morena! Morena embodies everything you want a fine-dining experience to be--amazing food, sophisticated with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a culinary experience that's a little exotic, inspiring and new to the senses!

Alejandro Saravia Head Chef & Co-owner

Chef Alejandro Saravia has a resume many aspiring foodies would dream about! Saravia has cooked at Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck and Les Ambassadeurs (Paris), as well as many well known Sydney establishments, such as Pier Restaurant, Salon Blanc (Woolloomooloo), Opera Bar (Sydney) and as Sous Chef at Sails Restaurant at Lavender (Lavender Bay).

Taking a journey back to his Latin American roots, Saravia has teamed up with architect and co-owner Sumedh Kataria to bring Sydney a new take on South American cuisine.

Morena is a term used to describe a dark Latina woman who is sassy, but down to earth; elegant and sophisticated yet fun, warm and friendly. (Think Jessica Alba, Penelope Cruz, Sofia Vargas and Salma Hayek!) Saravia hopes that his new restaurant will capture the essence of the Morena woman in a culinary sense and will encapsulate everything that’s great about the Latin American culture.

Whisk us away on a South American culinary adventure any day!
